UPDATE - JUNE 2011
Steph has now retired from regular Karaoke & DJ work, but will still be available for occasional or one-off bookings where possible.
I have been in the karaoke and disco business since 1990, being part of the first company to introduce karaoke to the UK.
Prior to venturing out as the first female karaoke presenter in Southern England, I spent some time as a professional entertainer working on cruise ships, clubs hotels and various venues as one half of a female singing duo‘Scene 2’. I couldn’t think of a better step forward after being a cabaret singer than karaoke. I love to sing, I love to hear people sing, so it was an obvious choice!
When karaoke first “took off” I would travel up and down the country every week, as karaoke was very new and exciting. Since those heady days, I now operate in the South Coast exclusively. My song list is one of the most up to date and assorted in the area - the singers tell me! I think it’s very important to change and adapt with the times, and I am always updating all elements of the evening to make sure everyone has a really good night.
Because I love my work, I have always been keen to listen to new ideas, and I spend most of my spare time seeking out new music at live gigs, festivals and through the internet and introduce this to the public through my DJ work offering a slightly more alternative karaoke show.
